Mis-Interpretation!

Comment from 'HMShore'-

"As the mom of a child with special needs I just don't get why anyone would use the word retard as slang.People with special needs are human beings with feelings. Why mock them using this language?People get brain injuries in accidents, so you don't just get the pleasure of being retarded through birth. It can happen to you or a close family member.Wonder if you would still think it's fun to demean people when it happens to you."

'The Pot Black Managements' reply-

"Pot Black would like to apologise for any offense caused to 'hmshore' with regards to our use of the word 'Retard' to describe our very own Rob Sterry.

After research into the origins of the word 'Retard' via The Chambers English Dictionary. It defines the word as follows:- To slow, to keep back development or progress of, to delay, to postpone; to delay the timing of (i.e. the ignition spark).

On this basis I feel you may have looked a little to deeply into our use of this word.... Also we use this very ironically, as Rob is highly intelligent and has letters after his name, but whilst trying to find a nick name for our pal who is a Ginger, Black, Jewish, Irishman, I felt we were pretty P.C.

Kind regards P.B.F.C"
