Stop press, it’s about time I pulled my finger out of my arse and wrote something on this website. It’s starting to look like the Mckinley memoirs and quite frankly I’m bloody bored of him and his do this do that attitude. I’m thinking of branching out, my operation is small but there is a lot of potential for 'aggressive' expansion. So which one of you fine gentlemen would like to join my team? Oh, there's only one spot open right now so we're gonna have...tryouts! Let’s introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and then everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair. Madness, it’s a bit like gravity…you just gotta give it a push!So anyway…. since I last made an entry we have all been busy boys. Danny and his merry men survived his stag do, just. I as per usual had a good go at self destructing via various methods. I also tried to loose Rosey but he somehow managed to buy a ticket at the airport, I was kinda hoping the plane would be full but my plans were scupperd when the nice lady at the desk said ‘there are 10 seats left’ in her Russian X-KGB accent.
Kev managed to survive his first outing. He very nearly came home on the Saturday when we couldn’t find him a decent Chinese restaurant to eat at!
Scotty discovered a love of funnels, and Tants showed the Germans how to mosh, and almost got me killed!
So on to the footy, what a start! I’m not so surprised. I always knew we had it in us, and with a few acquisitions pre season we can do and will do well. Eyebrows were raised when we drew with Hearts of Oak but we need to keep the positive attitude we are currently playing with and continue to build on the great start we’ve made, otherwise all that effort we put in pre season and in the first two games is a waste. We are taking things serious and its an awesome feeling but let’s not forget what also makes this club a success; we know how to enjoy ourselves. Come 2 o clock match day we get our business heads on but let’s also enjoy our footy and the time with our mates. This leads me nicely on to my next topic…..PB on tour!
There was a time after last years jaunt where I didn’t think I’d be able to come to the 09 tour but due to people twisting my arm at work and for financial reasons I will be arranging this years tour..to..Prague!
Yes the beautiful country of the Czech Republic and the city of Prague will be our next destination!! After looking around at various options this is the best destination and at the right sort of price.
So here are the details:
Date: 30th Jan-2 Feb – Yep 3 nights
Place: Czech Republic – Prague
Cost: Approximately £160 all in.
The cost includes return bus, return flight, and accommodation.
Now, whilst I have done my best to approximate what the cost will be this may change. Flight costs vary and as there is so many people coming this year the more seats you book the more expensive the seats get. I have based my estimation on 20 people but I have already had 15 confirmed and this was an hour after sending out a text! Also I haven’t chosen accommodation yet. I have looked at three places and I based it on the most expensive of the three. Also I don’t have a quote for a bus as yet, as there’s so many people it may be more than previous years where we have roughly paid £30 a head.
I guess what I’m trying to explain is £160 is a rough guide, I’m not expecting it to be more but if it is don’t shoot me down! I have yet to go on one of these tours where things work out in terms of money exactly as I planned, so in the past I have been left out of pocket!
What I’m after from you lot is a 100% yes’s followed by £50 deposit by next Saturday, that’s Saturday the 4th of October, the day of Dans wedding. I don’t want maybe’s and can I give you money in November, that wont wash. There is so many people wanting to come this time that I only want people who are definitely coming and who have money to back that promise!
Who can come: Every year we get asked the same thing, can my mate Tarquin come? He is a good lad, he drinks in the club once a year but I’m knobbing his sister Franny so can he come?! The simple answer is if they aren’t signed on they can’t come. This is something we do for the lads who turn out for the club week in week out, or the lads that help us out when we are short. We make special dispensation to those people who support the club and the elderly but that’s it. I wrote down a list of people who potentially might come….I gave up counting at 35 so I have to draw a line somewhere!
So text me, email me, send me a carrier pigeon, whatever it takes but if I don’t hear from you, you won’t be going. I’ll be booking seats on the flight within the next few weeks so time is of the essence boys. Don’t miss out, this one is gonna be the best so far, I can just feel it in my water!
