These two arch rivals faced each other for the second time this season with the visitors keen to avenge their earlier defeat. Despite the side being desperate to gain the upper hand, neither encounter has included a bad challenge by either team which as a result leaves the freak accident in today's match even more disappointing and upsetting.
With only 30 minutes played and the scores at 0-0 in an entertaining game, Pot Black right back Rob Sterry reacted first in a tackle with young K&P winger Joel Haverson as the youngster appeared to kick the bottom of Sterry's boot.
Initially for a few seconds play continued, as both sets of Players and Referee rightly deemed the challenge completely clean, although the reactions from the P.B faithful and quick thinking of P.B Sub Richie Reeder stopped play spotting the clear break in 'The Royals' right shin.
Both managers and Referee Kevin Batty agreed that the match be abandoned following the accident, and all at Pot Black wish Joel a speedy recovery.
