With Pot Black starting rather earlier in the pre-season preparations than usual, P.B for the first time entered in the annual Dip Farm 7's.
L'Orange took a slightly unfamiliar look for this tournament with Sunday Star Liam Harvey-Cooper and Darren Boyd pulling on the shirt for the first time.
The Group of Death:
Honkers F.C 1 v 0 Pot Black F.C
Pot Black F.C 1 v 0 FC Hearts (L.Harvey-Cooper)
Oak Tavern 1 v 2 Pot Black F.C (L. Harvey-Cooper & M.Wall)
Pot Black F.C 1 v 0 Oulton Athletic B (L. Harvey-Cooper)
Marquis of Lorne 0 v 3 Pot Black F.C (R.Cooper, T.Miles, & D.Boyd)
F.C Hunters 1 v 0 Pot Black F.C
Pot Black F.C 1 v 1 Caister Utd (D.Boyd)
Following a very slow start, in which a sluggish P.B were taken by surprise by the fast pace which they were expected to deal with. Brushing the disappointment of the first defeat aside P.B then ventured on a 4 game run of grit and determination before facing eventual group winners F.C Hunters, lead by Lowestoft Town starlet Bradley Hough who's unstoppable effort to steal 3 points following a fantastic P.B performance. Despite this tremendous display, the players were left with a sour taste in their mouth, when they did not turn up until the last 2 minutes of the last match against a very poor Caister Utd side as they grabbed a draw.
Special praise to Liam Harvey-Cooper who was rumoured to be in the running for player of the tournament and Max Wall who scored with his RIGHT FOOT ("I know... I didn't know he had one either!")
All in all, a good run out and good day had by all.
